Day 1 - Arrival in Marrakech

Arrive at Marrakech Menara Airport, where you’ll be welcomed by a member of the team and transported to your beautiful riad in the heart of Marrakech.

 

Spend the afternoon at your own pace—explore the nearby souks, take in the colors and sounds of the medina, or relax in your traditional accommodation.

 

In the evening, join your group for a special welcome dinner at a rooftop restaurant, where you’ll enjoy Moroccan cuisine with a stunning view over the city.

Day 2 - Historic Marrakech

Start your Moroccan adventure with a full-day guided tour of Marrakech’s rich historical sites. Discover the magnificent Koutoubia Minaret, the oldest mosque in the city, before visiting the Saadian Tombs and Bahia Palace, an architectural masterpiece adorned with intricate designs.

 

After lunch, stroll through the lush and colorful Majorelle Gardens, created by artist Jacques Majorelle and later owned by Yves Saint Laurent, whose legacy you’ll explore at the nearby museum. The garden is an oasis in the city, with cobalt blue buildings and exotic plants providing a unique sense of peace and inspiration.

Day 3 - Volunteering in Imlil

Today, travel to the picturesque village of Imlil in the High Atlas Mountains, where you’ll start your first volunteer project. The town of Imlil was severely affected by the 2023 earthquake in Morocco and restoration work is still continuing. 

 

After a warm welcome from the community, you’ll work alongside locals to paint a local school which has been completely rebuilt adding brightness to this vital learning space, but more importantly allowing children to return to this school and avoid an arduous daily journey down the moutain.

 

We'll engage with the children, learn about their daily lives, and enjoy a shared meal, experiencing the authentic warmth and hospitality of the Berber people.

Day 4 - Road Repair Project in Imlil

We'll have a choice of projects today. Some of us may need to return to the school to finish painting and laying the floor.

 

But there's also a chance to get hands-on with an essential water irrigation repair project in Imlil, where you’ll help clear paths, mend worn areas, and restore the damaged system. This will involveork wing side-by-side with village members and you’ll hear stories of mountain life, traditions, and the challenges they face. This day offers a unique way to witness the resilience of Moroccan mountain communities while making a meaningful impact.

​Day 5 - Environmental Volunteering in the Atlas Mountains

Join the community for an environmental project focused on preserving the stunning natural landscape. Participate in a rubbish collection initiative aimed at protecting the mountain’s beauty and the health of its residents. As you work, take in the breathtaking views of the Atlas peaks, knowing your efforts are contributing to the sustainability of this precious environment.

Day 6 - Moroccan Cooking Class with our Berber Hosts

Today we immerse ourselves in Moroccan culinary traditions as you spend the day with a local Berber family. Depending on the size of our group, this experience may be split over 2 days but everyone will have a chance to participate. 

 

Begin the day by learning how to prepare dishes like tagine, guided by the family’s traditional techniques. While your tagine simmers, enjoy a short guided walk through nearby trails to explore the village and take in the local landscape. Return for a hearty meal featuring the dishes you’ve created together, a celebration of food, friendship, and Berber hospitality.

​Day 7 - Agafay Desert and sunset in the Dunes

Today we depart from Imlil and head to the mystical Agafay Desert. As evening approaches, ride a camel or if you prefer you can opt for a thrilling quad bike ride across the dunes, watching the sunset paint the landscape in stunning hues. As night falls, enjoy a Bedouin-style celebration complete with traditional music, henna painting, and a delicious Moroccan dinner under a canopy of stars. This enchanting evening will leave you with lasting memories of the desert’s unique allure.

Day 8 - Coastal Charm in Essaouira

Travel to Essaouira, the captivating coastal city known for its laid-back atmosphere and vibrant arts scene. Explore the Skala du Port fortress, which offers beautiful ocean views, and wander the bustling souks filled with handmade crafts and fresh seafood. Take the evening to relax by the beach, or join locals in enjoying Essaouira’s famous sunset by the sea.

Day 9 - Volunteering in Essaouira

Engage in volunteer work in Essaouira, with projects that include beach clean-ups, assisting with environmental efforts, and working with adults and children in educational programs with the English Street Class. On Day 10, return to finish up projects or enjoy free time in the Medina, where you can explore artisan shops, sample local delicacies, or simply soak up the coastal ambiance.

​Day 10- The road to Casablanca

We'll spend the morning in Essaouira, finishing up any work that we started yesterday and bid a fond farewell to Mouchine Camel and his English Street Class.

After lunch we will journey up the coast to Casablanca- Morocco's largest city- where you can stroll through the Medina and end with a photo stop at Rick's cafe inspired by the classic film Casablanca. The tour offers a fascinating glimpse intp Morocco's modern history and culture.

Tonight we will gather for our Farewell Dinner and start to say good-bye to our new friends and hosts, 

Day 11 - Casablanca Farewell

After breakfast you'll visit the majestic Hassan II Mosque, an architectural marvel and the only Mosque in Morocco open to non-Muslims. We'll have a guided tour and you will be amazed at this extraordinary building and its very modern history. 

After lunch you will have 3 choices depending on your plans and flights:

  • Remain in Casablanca overnight to continue on to the tour of the Imperial North starting on Day 12

  • Remain in Casablanca and fly home on Day 11 or 12​

  • Travel with us to Marrakech and stay overnight in the Riad and plan to fly home on Day 12.

Day 12 - Parting Ways OR Start of Add-on Tour

Flights can booked from either Casablanca or Marrakech depending on your flight arrangements. We will assist with your airport transfers in either city

Day 12: From Casablanca to Rabat 


The journey from Casablanca to Rabat is a scenic 1-hour drive along the Atlantic coast, covering a distance of about 85 kilometers (53 miles). As you leave Casablanca, the landscape transitions from the bustling urban sprawl to the calmer, more picturesque settings of Morocco's capital region.

 

Upon reaching Rabat, you'll find a blend of history, culture, and modernity. Explore the beautiful medina with its winding streets, visit the Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret from the 12th century, and admire the royal mausoleum of Mohammed V. Stroll along the scenic Bouregreg River, relax in the lush Andalusian gardens, or enjoy the charming Kasbah of the Udayas, offering stunning views of the Atlantic.

 

Rabat exudes a more tranquil, less touristy atmosphere than Casablanca, making it a perfect place to unwind and explore Morocco's rich heritage. We'll be joined by a local tour guide who will bring the city and its culture to life for us

Day 13: From Rabat to Fes

 
The journey from Rabat to Fes takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, covering about 200 kilometers (125 miles) through Morocco's diverse landscapes. As you travel northeast, you'll pass through fertile plains and small towns, with the scenery gradually transitioning into the foothills of the Middle Atlas Mountains.

 

The route offers glimpses of rural life and the natural beauty of the Moroccan countryside.

 

Upon arriving in Fes, you'll be immersed in the city's rich history and culture accompanied by a local guide, with its medieval medina, ancient madrasas, and vibrant souks, all set against the backdrop of the stunning Atlas range.

 

Later on you'll have a food tour in Fes, starting around 6pm offering a vibrant culinary experience as the evening sets in . As the sun begins to dip, the city comes alive with aromas from street vendors, local eateries and bustling markets.  You'll savour traditional Moroccan dishes such as tagine, pastilla, and grilled meats served with mint tea and sweet pastries like baclava. 

 

The narrow alleys of Fes medina lead you to hidden gems where you can also taste spices, olives and fresh breads. The cool evening air makes this a perfect time to enjoy the city's rich food culture and atmosphere.

Day 14 :  Explore Fes


Start by wandering through the historic Fes el-Bali medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can visit the iconic Al Quaraouiyine University and the Chouara Tanneries to see traditional leather-making in action accompanied by a local guide.

 

We'll stop by the beautiful Medersa Bou Inania and the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts.

 

You can enjoy a stroll through Bab Boujloud (the Blue Gate), ro explore the bustling souks and finish with a walk to the Merenid Tombs to enjoy a panoramic views of the city.

Day 15 : From Fes to Chefchaouen 

The journey from Fes to Chefchaouen via Volubilis and Meknes is a fascinating route that takes you through Morocco’s rich history and stunning landscapes. Starting from Fes, you'll head towards Meknes, which is about 1 hour away, passing through picturesque countryside and olive groves.

 

In Meknes, you can explore the imperial city's grand gates, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the vibrant medina. From there, continue to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city about 30 minutes from Meknes, where you can wander through well-preserved ruins, including mosaics, columns, and basilicas. The fee for our visit to Volubilis is included in the tour.

 

After exploring Volubilis, we drive towards Chefchaouen, which takes about 2 hours. As you ascend into the Rif Mountains, the landscape becomes more rugged and scenic, with breathtaking views of valleys and hills. Finally, Chefchaouen's famous blue-painted streets and mountain backdrop offer a peaceful and picturesque ending to the journey.

Day 16: Explore The Blue City 

Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains, is a captivating town known for its striking blue-painted buildings and serene atmosphere. The town's winding streets, lined with vibrant shops and cafes, invite visitors to stroll and explore its unique blend of Arab, Berber, and Andalusian influences.

 

Key highlights include the historic Kasbah, with its lush gardens and small museum, and the panoramic views from the Spanish Mosque, perched above the town. The peaceful vibe and stunning mountain backdrop make Chefchaouen a perfect place to relax, wander, and immerse yourself in Moroccan culture and natural beauty before heading to Tangier. s we make our way to Tangier, you'll have the chance to enjoy the scenic drive along the coast before reaching the port city. S

Day 17 : Departure from Tangier 
 

Today marks the final day of your journey and after an unforgettable experience in Morocco we’ll help you make arrangements for your departure from the hotel. You can plan to depart from Tangier, but the rail system in Morocco is excellent so if you get a better deal on airfare, chat with us to see what your options are.
