This 12-day trip through Tanzania takes you to the most special places in this enchanting land. You discover that there is more to Moshi and indeed Tanzania than just a few tourist highlights. We introduce you to local schools, villages and coffee plantations. A visit with which you directly support the local community.
During a 5-day safari you will camp in the most beautiful game parks and look for the Big 5 and of course many other animal species.
If you want to stay longer and see more, you can join us for a 6 day/ 5 night tour of Zanzibar- known as Spice Island throughout history.

Day 1 - Arrival in Tanzania
Your adventure begins as you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, greeted by a representative from Go Vision. The picturesque drive to Shanty Town in Moshi takes about 45 minutes to an hour, giving you a chance to take in the lush Tanzanian landscape. Upon arrival, you’ll settle into your accommodation, where Western-style bathrooms are provided.
Dinner, prepared with local ingredients and offering vegetarian and vegan options, will be served, providing a warm introduction to the flavours of Tanzania. As you unwind from your journey, get ready for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2 - Immersion in Materuni Village
Today is all about cultural immersion in Materuni village. You’ll be welcomed into the community and experience a day in the life of the locals. This includes cooking with the Chagga village women, learning traditional songs, and picking up some basic Swahili. The experience offers a unique chance to engage with the villagers on a personal level, deepening your understanding of Tanzanian customs and daily life. After a day of cultural exchange, you can unwind with dinner at Jackfruit Restaurant or the Courage Café, both excellent options for local and international dishes.

Day 3 - Exploring Moshi and a Coffee Plantation
Your second day offers a deep dive into local culture, starting with a visit to Moshi’s colourful local market, known for its vibrant stalls and hectic atmosphere. From here we head to the nearby village of Materuni and if the conditions are favourable, we'll hike for about 45 minutes to the Materuni Waterfalls, part of the Mware River on the edge of the Kilimanjaro mountain reserve.
After a packed lunch, you'll head to the nearby village of Materuni for a hands-on tour of a coffee plantation. Here, you’ll learn how coffee beans are grown and harvested, with the chance to grind beans yourself. The evening is free for you to enjoy dinner at the Jackfruit Restaurant, a popular spot in Moshi.

Day 4 & 5 - Community engagement
Over these 2 days we will engage in a range of volunteering activities that will be focussed on where the need is greatest during your tour. Our key partner is Lukka from the Salama Community Centre and he will guide us in the activities that may include painting in or around the centre, planting trees, helping to renovate mud houses, building chicken coops and engaging with the children in their learning.
One of the afternoons will include a visit to the local High School where we can distribute reusable menstrual pads to the girls. We may even start planting a tree for each EVA group that visits the school as a mark of our commitment and engagement. A truly memorable and meaningful act that you can be a part of.
This is our last evening in Moshi before the safari and tonight we'll meet our guides who are not only wildlife experts but amazing humans who will make sure your safari is a memory to last a lifetime. We have a secure storage room in the hotel where you can leave your larger case and just bring a backpack for the trip.

Day 6 - Start of Safari – Tarangire National Park
We will visit all of the parks mentioned in the itinerary but the order may differ depending on information the guides receive on wildlife location. The accommodation at all sites will be in Lodges, all of which are equipped with en-suite bathroms, electricity, bar and wifi.
Your safari adventure begins as you drive to Tarangire National Park, home to one of Tanzania’s largest populations of elephants and the striking baobab trees. After settling into your Lodge inside the park, you’ll embark on your first game drive, spotting elephants, lions, and other wildlife. Your camp is well-equipped, with meals prepared by a chef and the area patrolled by park rangers for safety. Surrounded by the sounds of the wild, your safari experience kicks off in an unforgettable setting.

Day 7 - Safari to Lake Manyara National Park
Today, you’ll explore the diverse landscapes of Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions, flocks of flamingos, and large numbers of baboons. This park offers a beautiful contrast of environments, from forests to lakeshores, making it a hotspot for wildlife activity. You’ll enjoy a full day of wildlife watching, followed by a night in the camp, with delicious meals and a chance to reflect on the day’s sightings.

Day 8 & 9 - Safari in Serengeti National Park
These two days will be spent in the iconic Serengeti National Park, where you’ll experience the magic of its endless plains and witness the rich variety of wildlife that the park is known for. From prides of lions to herds of wildebeest, zebras, and giraffes, the Serengeti offers unmatched wildlife encounters. You’ll camp under the stars, immersed in the beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Game drives will take you deep into the park, where you’ll have the opportunity to see the Big Five and other animals in their natural habitat.

Day 10 - Safari in Ngorongoro Crater
A true highlight of your safari experience, today takes you into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s largest volcanic calderas. The crater’s unique ecosystem supports an incredible concentration of wildlife, making it one of the best places in Tanzania to spot animals like black rhinos and hippos. After a morning of exploring this natural wonder, you’ll return to Moshi, where you can relax and enjoy dinner at your leisure.

Day 11 - Rest Day in Moshi & Farewell Dinner
After an action-packed safari, today offers a chance to unwind. You can take an optional walking tour through the peaceful Rau Forest, where you’ll encounter towering trees and local wildlife. Alternatively, spend the day exploring Moshi at your own pace or resting at your accommodation. We will have some restful activities in the afternoon followed by our farewell dinner, celebrating the incredible experiences you’ve shared over the past 11 days.

Day 12 - Departure or Zanzibar Extension
It’s time to say goodbye to Tanzania, but if you’re continuing to Zanzibar, your adventure is far from over. For those leaving, a transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport is arranged, but if you're extending your journey, you’ll book a flight to Zanzibar to start the next leg of your trip.

Zanzibar Extension
Day 12 - Arrive in Zanzibar
Head to the Pili Pili Beach hotel, where you’ll spend your first afternoon relaxing on the stunning beaches. It’s a perfect start to your tropical extension, with plenty of time to unwind

Day 13 - Stone Town and Prison Island
Today, you’ll explore the rich history of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with narrow streets, ancient architecture, and cultural landmarks. You’ll also visit Prison Island, known for its giant tortoises, and the pristine Nakupenda Sand Beach where you can go for a swim in the pristine waters.
Lunch on the beach is included, and all transfers between sites are covered, ensuring a relaxing and informative day.

Day 14 - Paje Beach Day
Spend the day at Paje Beach, a favourite spot for sunbathing, swimming, and water sports. Known for its soft white sand and turquoise waters, Paje Beach offers a laid-back atmosphere perfect for recharging and reflection.

Day 15 - Spice Farm Tour
Today, you’ll visit one of Zanzibar’s famous spice farms, learning about the island’s role in the spice trade and sampling exotic flavors. After the tour, enjoy a relaxing afternoon on the beach, soaking in the island’s natural beauty.

Day 16 - Snorkelling
This magical experience allows you to swim with a variety of marine life in the warm oceans. Learn about the conservation efforts in place to protect these beautiful creatures and enjoy this unforgettable interaction in the clear waters of Zanzibar.

Day 17 - Departure
Your tropical journey concludes as you transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your international flight home, filled with memories of your Tanzanian and Zanzibar adventure.
